How It Works

Our Construction Estimating Process

A clear workflow from project submission to estimate delivery — designed to keep scope, quantities, and assumptions organized.

Workflow

From submission to delivery

Each step is designed to keep scope, quantities, and assumptions organized.

  1. 01

    Submit Your Project

Share drawings, plans, specifications, scope information, project requirements, and deadline information where applicable through the estimate request form or contact channels.

The more complete the documents and instructions, the clearer the estimating scope can be defined at the start.

  2. 02

    Project Review

We review project type, scope, drawings, specifications, trades, and required deliverables. Questions may be identified before estimating begins.

Early clarification helps reduce rework caused by missing sheets, unclear trade boundaries, or incomplete instructions.

  3. 03

    Scope & Takeoff

Relevant drawings and documents are analyzed to identify quantities and scope. Measurements may include length, area, volume, count, or weight where applicable.

Takeoff depth follows the agreed package — full project, selected trades, or a focused material list.

  4. 04

    Cost Estimation

Identified quantities can be organized with applicable cost information according to the selected estimating scope.

There is no single universal pricing database for every project. Cost application follows the agreed scope and available project context.

  5. 05

    Quality Review

The estimate is reviewed for completeness, consistency, scope alignment, quantity organization, and obvious omissions or inconsistencies.

Review improves reliability. It does not claim error-free output for every document set.

  6. 06

    Delivery

Final deliverables are provided according to the agreed scope and format — such as an estimate, takeoff, cost breakdown, quantity summary, notes, and assumptions.

After delivery, follow-up questions about assumptions or organization can be discussed as needed for the engagement.

What We Need to Prepare Your Estimate

The exact information required depends on the project. The items below are commonly useful during intake.

Architectural drawings
Structural drawings
MEP drawings where applicable
Specifications
Scope of work
Project location where relevant
Bid deadline
Required trades
Required deliverable format

If Information Is Missing

If project information is incomplete, the team may identify missing information or assumptions before proceeding. Incomplete documents cannot always be estimated without clarification.

How Turnaround Is Determined

Turnaround is confirmed after document and scope review. Common factors include:

  • Project size
  • Number of drawings
  • Number of trades
  • Scope complexity
  • Drawing quality
  • Required detail
  • Deliverable format
  • Requested deadline

What Affects Estimating Cost

Pricing depends on the project — not a published fixed menu. Factors commonly include:

  • Project size
  • Project complexity
  • Number of trades
  • Number of drawings
  • Required detail
  • Required turnaround
  • Type of deliverables
