Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about services, estimating, takeoffs, projects, process, turnaround, and pricing — without unsupported guarantees.

General

What construction estimating services do you provide?

Services include construction cost estimating, material takeoffs, quantity takeoffs, trade estimating, pre-construction support, cost analysis, bid support, project cost management support, and design & engineering coordination. Exact deliverables depend on project scope.

Who can use your estimating services?

General contractors, subcontractors, builders, developers, architects, engineers, property owners, and other construction professionals who need clearer cost and quantity information.

What types of construction projects do you work with?

The site architecture supports residential, commercial, multifamily, industrial, and public/civil project estimating. Fit for a specific project is confirmed during intake.

Do you provide trade-specific estimating?

Yes. Trade pages cover structural, envelope, interior, MEP, sitework, specialty, and material takeoff categories. Packages can focus on selected trades when a full-project estimate is not required.

How do I request an estimate?

Use Request an Estimate to share project details and drawings, or Contact Us to discuss scope first. Pricing and timing depend on the documents and deliverables you need.

Why Should You Trust Us?

We believe trust is earned through transparency, not promises. We offer clear pricing, defined deliverables, secure handling of your information, and professional communication from start to finish.

We’re not here for just one project—we aim to build long-term business relationships by consistently delivering reliable estimates, quality service, and real value.

No hidden surprises. No empty promises. Just transparency, reliability, and accountability.

Estimating

What is included in a construction cost estimate?

Depending on scope, an estimate may include quantity takeoffs, material and cost breakdowns, trade organization, assumptions, notes, and a project summary. Not every category is included automatically.

What is the difference between an estimate and a takeoff?

A takeoff focuses on measuring and organizing quantities from drawings. An estimate typically builds on quantities by organizing applicable cost information according to the selected scope.

Can you estimate multiple trades?

Yes. Multi-trade packages and single-trade packages are both possible depending on your drawings and requested deliverables.

What information is needed to prepare an estimate?

Drawings and specifications are essential. Project type, location, required trades or services, deadline preferences, and deliverable format preferences help define a clear scope.

Can you work from architectural drawings?

Yes. Architectural drawings are commonly used. Structural and MEP drawings improve completeness when those disciplines are part of the requested scope.

Can you work from incomplete drawings?

Incomplete documents may still support preliminary estimating or early cost planning, but gaps often require assumptions or clarification. Incomplete sets cannot always be estimated without follow-up questions.

Takeoffs

What is a material takeoff?

A material takeoff identifies and organizes required material quantities from construction drawings and project documents to support bidding, procurement, and cost work.

What is a quantity takeoff?

A quantity takeoff converts drawings and documents into measurable quantities — such as area, length, volume, count, or weight — that support estimating and bidding.

What information is included in a takeoff?

Depending on scope, takeoffs may include item descriptions, units, quantity summaries, trade breakdowns, notes, and assumptions. Pricing is included only when cost estimating is part of the request.

Can takeoffs be prepared by trade?

Yes. Takeoffs can focus on selected trades or categories when a whole-project package is not needed.

What drawings are required?

PDF plans and specifications are typically preferred. Additional document formats can be discussed during project intake.

Projects

Do you estimate residential projects?

Yes. Residential estimating support can cover homes, renovations, additions, and related residential developments based on the drawings and requested scope.

Do you estimate commercial projects?

Yes. Commercial packages can support offices, retail, restaurants, warehouses, tenant improvements, and similar commercial scopes when documents are provided.

Do you estimate multifamily projects?

Yes. Multifamily estimating often benefits from organized unit and trade quantities across repeated layouts.

Do you estimate industrial projects?

Yes. Industrial estimating can support facilities, manufacturing buildings, warehouses, and distribution projects depending on drawings and scope.

Do you support renovation projects?

Renovation and remodeling work can be discussed during intake. Scope clarity and drawing quality are especially important because existing conditions may not be fully documented.

Process

How does the estimating process work?

Typical steps include project submission, document review, scope and takeoff, cost estimation where requested, quality review, and delivery of the agreed package.

What files can I provide?

Project documents can be discussed during project intake. Commonly useful materials include PDF drawings, specifications, and related project documents. Confirm preferred formats when requesting an estimate.

Can estimates be revised?

Revisions depend on the project scope and the nature of changes. Drawing updates, scope changes, and addenda may require additional estimating time. Unlimited revisions are not assumed.

How is project information handled?

Project documents are used to prepare the requested estimating work. Confidentiality expectations can be discussed during intake. Do not treat website copy as a legal confidentiality guarantee.

Turnaround

How long does an estimate take?

Turnaround depends on project size, scope, complexity, drawing quality, required trades, and deliverables. Exact timing is confirmed after document and scope review.

Can urgent estimates be handled?

Urgent requests can be discussed during intake. Feasibility depends on workload, document quality, and the scope required before the deadline.

Pricing

How much does construction estimating cost?

Pricing depends on the scope and complexity of the project, required trades, level of detail, and turnaround requirements. Request a quote with your project details and drawings.

Do you publish a fixed price list?

No. Estimating work varies too widely by drawings, trades, and deliverables for a single published menu. Quotes are based on the project you submit.
